Interview with Krish Ponnam in February 2008

Krish Ponnam Krish is originally from Sri Lanka where he received Knowledge in 1974. He moved to Canada in 1996 and has been instrumental in developing the Tamil and Hindi community over the past 11 years. When Krish and his wife first arrived in Montreal there were five people in the Tamil community who had Knowledge and since then the number has grown to about thirty.

Question: How did you get involved in the Tamil and Hindi communities when you first came to Montreal?

Krish: The first thing I did was to connect with those who had Knowledge in the Tamil and Hindi communities and attended their local events, which were being held apart from the Montreal community. These events were taking place in a local Tamil association. I convinced those attending to come to the local events in downtown Montreal and I arranged to have translation. This helped to grow the numbers.

Question: What have you been doing to help propagation over the last few years?

Krish: We started small events in the local associations and societies as well as in people's homes. On average 15-17 people attended to hear about the message.Over the last two years about 35 people became interested to learn more and 9 started on the Keys. In 2006 five people received Knowledge, three in 2007 and one so far in 2008.

Question: How has the Keys made a difference?

Krish: The Keys simplified things and made it easier for people to understand and follow the process to receive Knowledge. It has allowed people to proceed at their own pace and this makes it more appealing to them. The Keys has really touched the hearts of people.

Question: What are your plans for 2008 for propagation and helping?

Krish: I want to have 3-4 small events a month, two in Montreal and one or two in the suburbs. These are events to introduce people to the message. I invite those attending to come again and offer to take their contact information to keep them informed of future events. I often bring people with me to the next event to make it easy for them. People often call me if they have questions and I do what I can to encourage them.

Question: What do you get from doing what you do?

Krish: I do what I do because it makes me happy. I do not have any expectations from the people. When I practice Knowledge I get inspired to do propagation and express my gratitude. I also feel inspired to help financially, which I have done for over 30 years. This gives me a life filled with joy.
