What Can You Do?

Montreal Area SAM Positions July 2008

Anyone who has learned the techniques of Knowledge as taught by Maharaji who would like to volunteer for the following positions is welcome to apply.

There are now more options of volunteering to participate and help Maharaji in his work. You can find local opportunities that interest you and coincide with your skills, or you can participate in virtual projects. There is a new online virtual service hub that you can register for, locate participation opportunities that can be done from home, and collaborate with others virtually.   • Project Manager Community Centre

    • Description: Collaborate on planning and implementing the elements required to ready the community Centre to host small local video screening events. This person will be supported by and will work closely with the City Contact.
    • Skills: Good planning, organization and communication skills Time required: 4-5 hours a week for 8 weeks.

  • Video Library Manager

    • Description: Plan, organize and oversee the development and operation of a local video library located in the community Centre.
    • Skills: Good planning, organization and communication skills. Able to supervise others and promote teamwork. This person will be supported by and will work closely with the City Contact.
    • Time required: 4-8 hours a week for the first 2 months and 2-3 hours a week thereafter.

  • City Contact Helper

    • Description: The role of the City Contact is to help facilitate the growth of propagation and to communicate information to and from the community. The City Contact and the teams work to maintain the following activities:
      • introductory and aspirant events,
      • a local Keys Library,
      • a communication system,
      • participation events with DVD screenings,
      • Knowledge reviews,
      • participation opportunities through SAM.
      There is a wonderful North American support team who gives the Village Point people assistance
      • with Village Statistics — Keys people and people requesting information from the cable broadcasts;
      • Keys Centre Libraries;
      • Participation and SAM;
      • Material Support;
      • Village Planning and Strategy.
    • Skills: Basic computer skills, intermediate communication and organizational skills, and advanced team skills.
    • Time Required: 5-6 hours of phone and email communication a week; 2 hours of in person meetings a week; 2 hours of event attendance a week.
